Mrs. Eva Oaks

Mrs. Eva Oaks, age 94, died at 9 a.m. April 16, 1970 at Silver Haven in Bloomfield where she had been a patient a year and a half.

The daughter of John W. and Charity Hardesty Townsend, she was born Sept. 24, 1875 in Davis County. On Feb. 10, 1909 she was married to Miles W. Oaks. He died Jan. 20, 1928.

They lived on a farm near Troy until 1918, when they moved to Milton, where she has lived since. For the past 30 years she made her home with her son and family in Milton.

She was a member of Pythian Sisters and Royal Neighbors.

Surviving are the son, John of Milton; a grandson, Larry of Bloomfield; and a great-grandson, other relatives and friends.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by six brother, one sister and a stepson.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 18 at the Grace United Methodist Church at Milton. The Rev. Herbert Phillips officiated. Burial was in Sunnyside Cemetery. Wellborn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
