Mrs. Harvey Thomas

Mrs. Eliza Ann Thomas, 80, widow of Harvey Thomas, died at 2:30 a.m. today at Moore Nursing Home in Stockport where she had been a resident 3 1/2 years. A lifelong resident of Van Buren County, she previously made her home in Pittsburg.

The daughter of Elijah and Anna Wix Cole, she was born Sept. 15, 1889, in Pittsburg. Her marriage to Harvey Thomas took place Nov. 11, 1905. He died in 1961. She was a member of the Pittsburg Methodist Church.

Surviving are 5 sons, Kenneth of Pittsburg, Stanley of Mt. Pleasant, Roy of Bentonsport, Sherman of Sacramento, Calif., and Wayne of Glenside, Pa.; four daughters, Mrs. Emmit Ewing of Bonaparte, Mrs. John Kreiss of Mount Pleasant, Mrs. A. Guarnery of St. Louis, and Mrs. William Haynes of Wentzville, Mo.; 34 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ed Cole of Ottumwa; and one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Jack of Keosauqua.

Services were held at the Keosauqua Methodist Church, Wednesday, April 22, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ford officiating. Burial was at the Pittsburg Cemetery.
