Mrs. Roy Phillips

Mrs. Ora A. Phillips, 81, widow of Roy Phillips, Eldon, died at Ottumwa Hospital Thursday, at 1:55 p.m. She had been in failing health for 14 years.

She was born Oct. 1, 1888, in Albia, the daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth Miller Brackett. She formerly had been a resident of Fairfield and Keosauqua and had lived in Eldon for the past 15 years. She was a member of Eldon United Methodist Church and Grandhope Chapter of the OES.

Her marriage to Roy W. Phillips took place June 30, 1909. He died June 12, 1966. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Morris Hogue of Eldon; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The service was held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home with the Rev. John Nye officiating. Burial was in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.
