Raymond J. Greer

Raymond Jackson Greer, the son of Charles Alfred and (Nellie) May Roe Greer, was born Sept. 2, 1912 in Mystic, Iowa and passed away, while at work, March 4, 1970 at the age of 57 years, 6 months and 2 days.

On April 29, 1942 he married Darlene Stoneburner, who survives. Four children, all surviving, were born to them: Wesley of Van Meter; Evaughn (Mrs. Douglas) Stubbs of Des Moines; Janice (Mrs. Bernard) Built of Fort Dodge; and Raymond of the home at 705 East Vinton in Winterset.

He is also survived by seven sisters: Mrs. Carl Clark of Bonaparte, Iowa; Mrs. Eber Hull of Dekalb, Ill.; Mrs. Walter Skeens of Columbia, Ohio; Mrs. John Goff and Mrs. Willard Bell of Ainsworth, Iowa; Mrs. Elmer Johnson of Ottumwa, Iowa; Mrs. Robert Amlong of Iowa City, Iowa. There are three grandchildren, as well as other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

He spent all of his life in the state of Iowa and for the last nine years had lived in Winterset. he was employed by B. and C. Welding and Fabricating of DeSota.

Services were held at the Fisher Funeral Home at Van Meter on Saturday, March 7 at 2 o'clock. Interment was in the Van Meter Cemetery.
