Herbert Behrens

Herbert August Daniel Behrens, 71, of 1533 Ave. G. Fort Madison, died at 6:10 a.m. Monday, March 9 in Sacred Heart hospital in Fort Madison after a short illness. His death was sudden.

The funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 11 at 1:30 p.m. in Barr Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Robert Rotgers officiating. Burial was in Primrose cemetery.

Born May 24, 1897, at Primrose, he was the son of Frederick and Elizabeth Vogt Behrens. He was a lifelong resident of the county and a retired IAAP guard. He operated the Fort Madison Window and Door Co. for the past 11 years. he was a member of the Evangelical church in Primrose and was a 50 year member of Mount Moriah lodge No. 27 at Farmington.

Surviving are one brother, Victor Behrens, Abilene, Tex., and three nephews.
