Clifton Stonehouse

Clifton J. Stonehouse, 75, who spent his entire life in the farm house in which he was born, died unexpectedly at his home at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26.

Dr. Frank Richmond, Sr., Ft. Madison, Lee county medical examiner, said that death was due to a heart attack.

The Stonehouse homestead is located five miles southeast of Hillsboro.

Mr. Stonehouse was born Dec. 20, 1894, the son of Richard and Caroline Stonehouse. He was a farmer.

Mr. Stonehouse was a bachelor.

Surviving are three sisters, Carrie Stonehouse of Hillsboro, Mrs. Glenn Miller of Bonaparte, and Mrs. Beulah Lamm of Stockport.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. at Beatty-Foster Funeral chapel, Salem. Rev. Levi Winfrey of the Hillsboro Baptist church officiated. Interment was in Hillsboro cemetery.
