Mrs. Mary Jean Skinner

Mrs. Mary Jean Skinner, 53, of Fort Madison, died Saturday, Feb. 14, at 11:45 a.m. in Sacred Heart hospital, Fort Madison. She had been ill two days.

She was born May 11, 1916 at Davenport, the daughter of Jack and Daisy McMeekan.

She married Virgil Skinner on June 27, 1933 at Davenport.

She was a resident of the Donnellson and Farmington area for 12 years.

Mrs. Skinner was a member of the United Methodist church, Order of Eastern Star and the Demolay Mothers' Club.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Skinner, serving with the Armed Forces and Robert Skinner of Fort Madison; one daughter-in-law, Judie Skinner of Farmington; and her mother, Mrs. Daisy White McMeekan of Davenport.

She was preceded in death by her father, one brother and an infant daughter.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. in the Anson Community Church, Anson, Mo. with the Rev. J. Bryan Jones of Arkansas officiating. Burial was in the Anson cemetery, five miles south of Farmington.

Miller's Home for Funerals in Farmington was in charge of arrangements.
