John Kendrick

Graveside services were held Sunday, Oct. 19 at 3 p.m. at the Sunnyside cemetery for John Kendrick, age 66, who died of a heart attack while he and his wife Mabel were packing the car for a week's vacation in the Smokey Mountains. They lived in Indianapolis, Ind. Rev. James D. McKean officiated.

He was married to Clara Burchett, who died in 1934. To this union was born one son, J.W. Kendrick of Indianapolis, Ind. He was then married to Mabel Coleman, daughter of the Milton Presbyterian minister, who lived in Birmingham. To this union was born one son, James Kendrick who lives in Washington, D.C.

Besides his wife and two sons he is also survived by two sisters and five brothers.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Indianapolis. he was laid to rest by the side of his first wife.

Mr. Kendrick had retired from his school teaching profession in 1968 at the age of 65 years.
