Noah Courtney

Noah Courtney, 87, of Farmington, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 3 A.M. in St. Joseph Hospital, Keokuk. He had been in failing health for sometime but death was very sudden.

He was born Feb. 6, 1882 in Van Buren County, the son of William Fletcher and Margaret Ellen Strah Courtney.

He married Clara Belle Cross at Farmington. He was a member of the Baptist Church at Bonaparte.

He is survived by three sons, Walter of Farmington and Raymond K. and the Rev. Willard F. Courtney, both of Fort Madison; and a daughter, Mrs. Florence Pearl Drummond of Farmington; one sister, Mrs. Mina Murry of Streeter, Ill.; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother, two sisters, two sons, one daughter, two grandchildren.

The funeral will be Thursday, at 2 P.M. in the Farmington Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronald Cochran officiating. Burial will be in Greenglade Cemetery, Farmington.
