Malcolm Dingus

Malcolm D. Dingus, 65, well-known resident of the Stockport Community, died suddenly about 3:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29 at the Jefferson County Hospital following a heart attack.

He was born Feb. 24, 1904, at Ft. Blackamore, Va., the son of Charles and Effie Gillenwater Dingus. He was married to Zelta Lowry on April 27, 1924.

Dingus had lived in the Birmingham and Stockport communities over 30 years. He was a member of the Birmingham Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Richard Dingus, Abilene, Texas; nine grandchildren; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. John Topping, Birmingham.

He was preceded in death by two sons, one brother and a sister.

Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 1 at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield with the Rev. Millard Marshall in charge. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery at Birmingham.
