George A. Klodt

The funeral for George A. Klodt, 84, was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18 at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Bloomfield conducted by the Rev. Omer Woltering. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery at Eldon.

The son of Anton and Caroline Knecht Klodt, he was born in Van Buren County March 15, 1885. He had lived in Van Buren County all his life and was a member of St. Mary Madgalen Church at Bloomfield. His marriage to Emma Birchmier took place at Farmington April 25, 1916.

Surviving are two sons, Lawrence and Clarence, both of Milton; four grandchildren; one sister, Theresa Emanuel of Iowa City; and two brothers, Will of Ottumwa and Albert of Sidney, Mont.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1965.
