Lawrence E. Silver, 74, retired farmer and former Stockport businessman, died at 6:10 P.M. Thursday, Aug. 21, at the Van Buren Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua.

He had been in failing health the past several years and seriously ill the past ten days.

Funeral services were Monday at 2 P.M. at the United Methodist Church in Stockport with the Rev. Chester C. Werft officiating. Masonic rites were conducted at the grave in Spencer Cemetery. The funeral was in charge of Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Lawrence E. Silver was born Jan. 15, 1895, at Stockport, the son of Joseph and Angie Seward Silver. He was married March 12, 1917, to Cora M. Keller who survives. He lived his entire life in the Stockport Community.

He was a 50-year member of Workman Lodge 634 at Stockport and a member of the Eastern Star, Chapter 544.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by one brother and a sister.
