Mrs. Lois Hayes

Mrs. Lois Hayes, 77, of Corydon, died Tuesday Aug. 12, at about 7:45 A.M. in the Hainline Nursing Home, Bonaparte, after a lengthy illness.

The former Lois Campbell, she was born Jan. 16, 1892, in Harrisburg Township, Van Buren County, the daughter of James Albert and Anna Taylor Campbell. She spent her childhood in the Harrisburg Community near Bonaparte.

She married Alvia J. Hayes in 1932 at Corydon and he preceded her in death.

She was a school teacher at Corydon. Mrs. Hayes was a member of the Harrisburg Baptist Church.

Surviving are a brother, Taylor Campbell of Bonaparte, and a sister, Ruth Hamilton of Longmont, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters.

The body was moved from Miller's Home for Funerals in Farmington to the Carl Wilson Reposing Home in Bonaparte on Wednesday afternoon, where the funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:30 A.M. The Rev. Levi Winfrey will officiate. Burial will be in the Allerton Cemetery where a graveside service will be held at 2:30 P.M.
