Reva Patten

Reva Patten, former long-time employe at the Fairfield Public Library, died suddenly about 11:30 p.m. Thursday, April 24 at the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jenks, rural route 1, Fairfield.

Miss Patten had been in failing health for the past year but her death was sudden and unexpected. Her death was due to heart failure.

Last rites were Monday, April 28 at 2 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Ned Gillum in charge. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Reva Patten, 69, was born Oct. 24, 1899, at Keosauqua, the daughter of Anderson and Emma Vance Patten. She attended school in Keosauqua and moved to Fairfield with her parents in 1924.

She began her work at the library in 1944 and continued to work there for 24 years until 1968 when she was forced to retire because of ill health. Following her retirement she had made her home with her sister. Miss Patten was a member of the First Christian Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Jenks of Fairfield and Mrs. . . . (remainder missing)
