Mrs. Esther L. Maddy

Mrs. Esther L. Maddy, 64, died Saturday, Mar. 22, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Kunzman, near Selma.

Funeral services were held at 1 P.M., Tuesday, Mar. 25, at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds in charge of the Rev. James Postel. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery, Knoxville.

Mrs. Maddy was a cosmetologist, operating beauty shops in Des Moines and Ottumwa. In 1967 she served as a housemother at Parsons College.

Mrs. Maddy was born April 6, 1904 at Knoxville, the daughter of John and Eva Bell Frost. She was married to Stanley R. Maddy, who preceded her in death in 1952.

Other surviving children are Mrs. Pauline Frey, Shawnee Mission, Kansas; Mrs. Gwendolyn Applequist, Pensacola, Fla.; and Wallace Maddy, Eddyville.
