Mrs. Doris Wilson

Mrs. Doris Wilson, 78, of Athens, Mo., died Thursday, Feb. 20, at 3:30 a.m. in Sacred heart hospital, Fort Madison. She had been hospitalized since Feb. 10 when she suffered a fracture of the left hip in a fall on ice in her yard. She was first taken to Van Buren County Memorial hospital, Keosauqua, and then transferred to Sacred Heart hospital.

Born May 8, 1890 at Athens, Mo., she was the daughter of John and Florence Daubiness Bedell and was a lifelong resident of Athens.

She was married to Carroll K. Wilson at Hannibal, Mo. He died July 19, 1955.

Mrs. Wilson was a member of the United Methodist church.

She is survived by a son, Charles, of Fort Madison and a daughter, Mrs. Joe (Lela) Miller of Farmington rural route; one sister, Mrs. N.S. Wilson of Iowa City rural route; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held Sunday, Feb. 23, at 2 p.m. in Miller's Home for Funerals, Farmington, with the Rev. Harold Schirm officiating. Burial was in Athens cemetery.
