Julia Mae Ely Smith

Julia Mae Ely Smith was born to Frank and Ida Stedman Ely near Stockport, Iowa, May 26, 1885, and lived there the first 35 years of her life. In 1907 she married the late Justin S. Smith. In 1920 the family moved to western Nebraska where they lived on a ranch. In 1936 again the family moved west to Wyoming. In 1945 Mr. and Mrs. Smith retired and moved to California settling in Riverside near their children.

Mrs. Smith passed away after a long illness, Jan. 31, 1969.

She is survived by three daughters, Florence Smith and Marjorie Hart of Riverside and Jennie Mae Resnick of Arcadia, California; two sons, Keith Smith of Phoenix, Arizona, and Ellis Smith of Monrovia, California; two sisters, Zella Elliott of Monrovia, California, and Josephine Crawford of Tampa, Florida, one brother, Don S. Ely of Oakhurst, Calif. Twelve grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren also survives.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Garden of Prayer Mortuary, burial was in Olivewood Cemetery, Riverside, California.
