Mrs. Ida Gaston

Mrs. Ida Gaston, 85, of Farmington rural route, died Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 7:10 a.m. in Van Buren County Memorial hospital, Keosauqua, after a lengthy illness.

The former Ida Gertrude Pitney, she was born Dec. 15, 1883 at Acasto in Clark county Missouri, the daughter of Aaron and Josephine Spurrier Pitney.

She married Clyde Gaston on Oct. 7, 193 at Keokuk and he survives. She was a lifelong resident of the Acasto community and was a member of the Baptist church. She is the last of her family.

Survivors include one son, Thad Gaston of Farmington rural route and one grandson.

she was preceded in death by three brothers.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan. 9, at 2 p.m., in the Farmington Baptist church. Burial will be in Christy cemetery.

The body is at Miller's Home for Funerals in Farmington.
