MRS. CLARENCE SIMPKINS

Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Simpkins, 81, of Farmington, died Monday, June 27, at 3:15 p.m. at Van Buren county Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua. She had been seriously ill for one month.

She was born May 31, 1885 near Bonaparte, the daughter of William and Martha Russell Fletcher, and was a lifetime resident of Van Buren and Lee counties. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.

On Feb. 26, 1919 at Ottumwa, she married Clarence Wesley Simpkins, who preceded her in death.

Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Donald Kimmey and one son, Elmo, both of Farmington; one brother, Jesse Fletcher of Longmont, Colo., and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Caudill of Bonaparte and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother.

Funeral service will be Thursday, June 30 at 2 p.m. in the Farmington Church of the Nazarene with Rev. C.C. Swalwell and the Rev. J. Bryan Jones officiating. Burial will be in Greenglade cemetery. The body is at Miller's Home for Funerals in Farmington.
