ALETHA E. WILLIAMS

Aletha Elizabeth Williams, eldest daughter of Irvin and Emma Stewart Bowers, was born Sept. 12, 1891 near Libertyville, Ia., and passed away June 25 at the age of 74 at her home in Fairfield.

She was united in marriage to John Franklin Williams on Oct. 21, 1914. They went to housekeeping on a farm, four miles north of Douds, where she remained until August of 1957 when she moved to Fairfield to make her home.

Four children survive, Russell Earle of Red Bluff, Calif., Arlene Elizabeth of Fairfield, Pauline June of West Burlington and John Irvin of Libertyville. Other survivors are two sisters, Mrs. C.C. Booth of Libertyville and Mrs. C.J. Layman of Batavia; ten grandchildren; a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband on April 28, 1953 and her parents. A twin sister died in infancy.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 2 at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist church in Fairfield with the Rev. James Dendler, pastor officiating. Interment was in the Mt. Moriah cemetery near Douds.
