JOSEPH HOAGLIN

Joseph Hoaglin, 71, Hillsboro, died early Wednesday, May 25 in Van Buren County Memorial hospital in Keosauqua.

He was born May 19, 1895, in Henry county, son of Charles and Melissa Boley Hoaglin.

He was married to Bonnie Jean Rail who died in September, 1949. He later married Martha Shipley.

Mr. Hoaglin was a retired farmer and a member of the American Legion.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Halbasch of Farmington and Mrs. Betty Morris of Keosauqua; a son, Leslie of Hillsboro; a step-daughter, Mrs. Louise Keupper of Burlington; six brothers, a sister, 12 grandchildren, and six step-grandchildren.

Services were held Friday, May 27 at 2 p.m. at the Hillsboro Baptist Church, where he was a member. The Rev. David Diercks and Dr. Charles R. Logan officiated. Burial was in the Hillsboro Cemetery with the American Legion in charge of military rites.
