Claude E. Pittman

Claude E. Pittman, 65, died suddenly Thursday afternoon, Apr. 21 at his home in Des Moines. The son of Edward F. and Effie Foster Pittman, he was born Apr. 3, 1901 at Keosauqua, Iowa. He moved to Des Moines with his parents, which has been his home since.

He was an employe in the Des Moines post office many years until he sustained a heart condition and had to retire. He married Blanche Peacock of near Keosauqua. She survives.

Other survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Art Evans of Des Moines, Mrs. Richard Hibbs of Omaha, Nebr. and Donna, at home; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Rex Mounce of Seattle, Wash. and a half-sister, Mrs. George Edwards of Des Moines; four aunts, Mrs. Nancy McManis of Eldon, Mrs. Kate Saar of Washington state, Mrs. Nora Glascock of Medford, Ore. and Mrs. Josie Harryman of Cantril.

Funeral service was at 3 p.m. Saturday at a Presbyterian Church near his home, of which he was a member. Burial was at Des Moines.
