Lynn L. Bruce

Lynn L. Bruce, 80, of 3917 Twelfth St., Des Moines, a retire auditor with the Post Office Department, died Tuesday, March 1, 1966 at Mercy Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born in Van Buren County and lived in Des Moines since 1909. He taught school before joining the Post Office Department 45 years ago. He retired Jan. 1, 1955.

He was a member of the Highland Park United Presbyterian Church for 45 years and was a charter member of the New Era Highlander Sunday School Class and was a teacher for the last 10 years. He was a member of Auburn Masonic Lodge and received his 50-year certificate in 1957. He was also a member of Alpha Chapter, Des Moines Order of the White Shrine and the National Association of Retired Civil Employees.

Survivors include his wife, Irene; a daughter, Mrs. Neal Clark of Grimes and a grandson

Services were held Saturday March 5 at 2 p.m. at the Highland Park United Presbyterian Church, Fourth street and Euclid avenue. Burial was in Highland Park Memory Gardens.
