LOTTIE VE TWEEDY

Mrs. Lottie Ve Tweedy, 81, widow of the late Hugh E. Tweedy, of Rural Route, Montrose, died suddenly at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Merton Lind of Rural Argyle at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10.

Daughter of Robert Hilles and Mary Catherine Smith Starr, she was born November 24, 1884 at Keosauqua.

She married Hugh E. Tweedy on April 4, 1905 at Keosauqua and they lived in Montrose township south of Montrose since their marriage.

Mrs. Tweedy was of the Methodist faith.

Surviving are: Seven daughters, Mrs. Harry (Mildred) Lee of Lockridge, Iowa; Mrs. Carmi (Kathryn) Lowenberg of Donnellson; Mrs. Merton (Marjorie) Lind and Mrs. John (Virginia) Pezley, both of Argyle; Mrs. Ellis (Ve) Wardlow of Montrose; Mrs. Harry (Elizabeth) Dresser of Keokuk and Mrs. Eston (Florence) Woodruff of Mt. Sterling, Iowa; five sons, James of Port Orford, Ores.; Kenneth of Keokuk; Jay, Hughie and David Tweedy, all of Montrose; twin brothers, Charles Starr of Castro Valley, Calif. and William Starr of Galesburg, Ill.; 54 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husbande on April 19, 1961, two grandchildren, seven sisters and a brother.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 Saturday, Feb. 12 at the ....... Rev. Paul Penington of Montrose officiating. Interment was in the Sandusky cemetery.
