John S. Wallingford

John S. Wallingford, 81, of Farmington died Friday, March 4, at 7:50 p.m. at his home in Farmington after a lengthy illness.

He was born Aug. 13, 1884 north of Bonaparte, the son of Henry and Elizabeth Miller Wallingford.

On Sept. 1, 1908 at Bonaparte, he married Elizabeth Ann Heise, who preceded him in death on Oct. 8, 1936.

His marriage to Anna Hills Ware took place Nov. 23, 1946 at Farmington. She survives.

He was a retired farmer and a carpenter who lived north of Bonaparte until January of 1948 when he moved to Farmington. He was a member of the Baptist church at Bonaparte.

Besides his widow, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Nellie) Rude of Mt. Pleasant; one step-son, Lee Ware and his wife of Farmington; one sister, Mrs. Mary Still or rural Farmington; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents, 6 brothers, 4 sisters, 2 daughters in infancy, and 3 great-grandsons.

The funeral service was held Monday, Mar. 7, at 2 p.m. in the Methodist church at Farmington with the Rev. Leroy Moore officiating. Burial was in Vale cemetery north of Bonaparte. Arrangements were in charge of Miller's Home for Funerals in Farmington.
