OBITUARIES

LYNN L. BRUCE

Lynn L. Bruce, 80, of Des Moines, a retired auditor with the Post Office Department, died on Tuesday afternoon at Mercy Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born in Van Buren County and had lived in Des Moines since 1909. He taught school before joining the Post Office Department 45 years ago. He retired Jan. 1, 1955.

He was a member of the Highland Park United Presbyterian Church for 45 years and was a charter member of the New Era Highlander Sunday School Class and was a teacher for the last 10 years. He was a member of Auburn Masonic Lodge and received his 50-year certificate in 1957. He was also a member of Alpha Chapter, Des Moines Order the White Shrine, and the National Association of Retired Civil Employees.

Suvivors include his wife, Irene; a daughter, Mrs. Neal Clark of Grimes and a grandson.
