DR. GEORGE W. RAIL

Dr. George W. Rail, 77, a retired veterinarian, died Thursday morning, Jan. 13, at the home of his niece, Mrs. Betty Morris, in Keosauqua. His death followed a lengthy illness.

Last rites were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Burch Funeral Home, Birmingham, with the Rev. Ora Reep in charge. Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday in Reedsburg, Wisc.

Dr. George Warren Rail was born March 2, 1888, in Van Buren county, the son of Sam and Elizabeth Kimmel Rail. He was married to Lydia Vorlop in June, 1917. She preceded her husband in death on Jan. 22, 1956.

Dr. Rail practiced at Rippey, Ia., for over 40 years before he retired three years ago and came to Van Buren county to make his home with his niece.

He is survived by two brothers, H.R. Rail, Tarkio, Mo., and John Rail, Vista, Calif.; and a number of nieces and nephews. he was preceded in death by an infant son, two brothers and a sister.
