MRS. ELIZABETH RUBY

Mrs. Elizabeth B. Ruby, 88, died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, at her home in Keosauqua. She had been in failing health.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Keosauqua Christian church with burial in Fellows cemetery.

The daughter of John and Olive Evans Craig, she was born Sept. 7, 1877 at Kilbourn. On Dec. 29, 1897 she married Craig Ruby of Stockport. He died Sept. 13, 1962. Mr. and Mrs. Ruby were steward and matron of the Van Buren County Home for more than 20 years, until they retired in 1942 and moved to their home in Keosauqua.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. W.C. Avery of Kerrville, Tex.; Mrs. Ruth Vardaman of Wapello, and Mrs. G.P. Intermill of Chicago; a brother, Jay Craig of Fairfield; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her husband, brother and six sisters preceded her in death.
