L.E. CONRAD

L.E. (Edgar) Conard, 91, of near Salem, died at 1 a.m. Saturday in Memorial hospital, Mt. Pleasant.

He was born Aug. 11, 1874, near Salem, the son of William and Alice Wolf Conard. On Feb. 8, 1900, he married Maggie Shelman, near Stockport. He was a retired farmer and teacher. Mr. Conard(err) was an active member of Salem Congregational church.

Surviving are a son, W.E. Conard, Salem; five daughters, Mrs. Dewey Phelphs, Hillsboro; Mrs. Paul Anderson, Olds; Mrs. Kenneth Postel, Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Lester Meeker, Winfield, and Mrs. Vestie Elgin, Irrigon, Oregon; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday in Salem Congregational church, Rev. Patrick Kelly officiating. Burial was in Salem South cemetery.
