BERLIN VAN STEINBURGH

Berlin Van Steinburgh, 74, died at 7 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18 at Mesa, Ariz.

He was born July 25, 1892, in Canrtil, the son of Henry and Louisa Johnson Van Steinburgh. Aug. 31, 1912, he married Willa Stemple in Cantril. Mr. Van Steinburgh completed school in Cantril and operated a telephone and light plant there. He joined Benner Tea Co. in 1926 at Milton and moved to Stronghurst, Ill., in 1929, where he operated a Benner store for 31 years. He was a member of the Stronghurst Methodist church.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Pogue of Macomb, Ill.; two grandchildren; a brother, Foster Van Steinburgh of Cantril; and a sister, Mrs. Emma Sadler of Milton. he was a brother-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. D.S. House of Bonaparte.

Services were held Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. at the Stronghurst Methodist church, with the Rev. Irving Kenyon officiating. Burial was in the Walnut Grove cemetery.
