MRS. JAMES H. HOGAN

Mrs. Ethel Mae Hogan, 81, of Bonaparte, died Friday, Oct. 16 at 4:45 p.m. at the Van Buren County Memorial hospital in Keosauqua, where she had been a patient since Sept. 29.

She was born Oct. 6, 1883, at Farmington, the daughter of Sidney and Mary Adeline Sheldon Kelsey. She spent her childhood in Farmington. Her marriage to James Walter Hogan took place on July 9, 1905 at Farmington. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hogan was a member of the Bonaparte Baptist church.

Survivers include a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Workman and a son, Gerald Hogan of Bonaparte; two sisters, Mrs. J.P. McIntosh of LaMesa, Calif., and Mrs. Dorothy Burkland of Farmington; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, a son Emmett, three sisters and a brother preceded her in death.

The services were held Sunday, Oct. 18 at 2 p.m. at the Bonaparte Baptist church, with the Rev. Walter Courtney officiating. Burial was in the Bonaparte Cemetery.
