OBITUARY

MRS. JENNIE PARKS

Mrs. Jennie Parks, 87, of Bonaparte died Wednesday, October 14 at the Van Buren County Memorial hospital in Keosauqua. She had fractured a hip in August.

She was born Jan. 1, 1877, near Mt. Sterling, the daughter of Frank and Deborah Singleton Allen. She was married in 1901 to Ira Parks who died in 1953. They farmed near Mt. Sterling for several years.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. W.C. Dickerson of Bonaparte, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are two brothers, Arthur Allen of Bonaparte and Charlie Alle of Youngstown, Ill., and four sisters, Mrs. John Tobin of Ft. Madison, Mrs. R.L. Bridgham of Chicago, Mrs. John Gibson of Earlville, Ill., and Mrs. Lulu Wollam of Fleming, Colo.

Funeral services were held on Friday at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Sterling Mehtodist(err) church. Elder H.C. Shaw of Cantril, assisted by the Rev. Richard Eis, pastor, officiated. Burial was in the Cantril Cemetary.
