Jennie Booth rites Friday

Jennie Leona Booth, 93, formerly of 205 E. Briggs, died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Parkview Care Center.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Mary Ann Bernard officiating. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery at Libertyville. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Parkview Activity Fund.

Mrs. Booth was born Dec. 22, 1893 in Jefferson County, the daughter of Irvin and Emma Stewart Bowers. She married Charles C. Booth Feb. 25, 1914 in her parents' home. He died April 3, 1975. Until moving to Fairfield in 1973, she had lived her life in the Mount Zion community southwest of Libertyville. She taught school in Jefferson County and the Mount Zion Sunday school and was am ember of First United Methodist Church. She was a Ledger correspondent for the Mount Zion community for many years.

Surviving are three daughters, Gladys McDonough, Ottumwa; Marie Zuehlke, Eldon; Mineta Pringle, Fairfield; a son, Raymond Booth, Batavia; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Two great-grandchildren and two sisters preceded her in death.
