Ottumwa, Iowa, Thursday, July 28, 1977

CHAPLIN SERVICE

MILTON - The funeral for Iven H. Chaplin, 54, of Milton, who died Tuesday, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Troy Methodist Church, with the Rev. Carl Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Troy Cemetery.

Visitation will be tonight from 7:30 to 8:30 at Wellborn Funeral Home. A memorial has been established.

Mr. Chaplin was born April 25, 1923, in Bloomfield to John F. and Elsie M. Darnell Chaplin. On March 4, 1945, he married Mary I. Wells in Bloomfield.

He was a member of the Troy Methodist Church, the Troy I.O.O.F. Lodge 27, the 26-89 Saddle Club and the Southeast Iowa Quarter Horse Association. He had served on the Van Buren County Fair Board, and was a 4-H leader for many years.

Surviving are his widow; three sons, Michael of Oskaloosa, Larry of Bloomfield and Monty at home; three brothers, Vern of Bloomfield, Forest of Ottumwa and Lloyd of Chariton; and two sisters, Leta Chance of Ottumwa and Neva Mae Gardner of Bloomfield.
