LEA B. BEGGS

KEOSAUQUA - Lea B. Beggs, 91, of Chapman, Kan., formerly of Van Buren County, died Sunday at Abileen, Kan.

He was born Sept. 23, 1885, at Pittsburg, Iowa, to Robert and Etta S. Beggs. He lived most of his life in Van Buren County, moving in 1965 to live with a son in Kansas.

Surviving are one son, Robert of Chapman, Kan.; one grandson; and two brothers, Dwight of Hot Springs, Ark., and Hazen of Ottumwa.

His wife, Helen, died in 1972.

The service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. John Cornish officiating. Burial will be in the Pittsburg Cemetery.

A memorial has been established payable to the cemetery.

The body will arrive at the funeral home late Wednesday afternoon.
