Ottumwa, Iowa, Monday, April 4, 1977

MERWYN (TOB) BRANDT

BIRMINGHAM - Merwyn A. (Tob) Brandt, 61, died early sunday at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, with whom he had made his home for the past 24 years.

He was born Jan. 27, 1916, near Fairfield to William H. and Mary Spurlock Brandt. The family moved to Shelbina, Mo. when he was a child and he lived there until 1953.

He had been a carpenter the past 10 years at Fairfield Lumber Co. He was a member of the Shelbina Methodist Church and served with the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II.

Survivors include Mrs. Harley Shipley, the sister with whom he was living, and another sister, Dorothy Pogue of Shelbina.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, the Rev. Mr. Walter Shuka officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Douds.

A memorial has been established to the Heart Fund.
