RUTH E. SAUNDERS
BONAPARTE - Mrs. Ruth E. Saunders, 84, of Bonaparte, died Thursday at 10:30 p.m. in the Good Samaritan Center at Keosauqua.
She was born Dec. 21, 1892, at Stillwater, Okla., to Mr. and Mrs. George Dreon. On Sept. 10, 1910, she married Herbert Saunders at Atchison, Kan. He preceded her in death.
A Bonaparte resident 40 years, she was a member of the Bonaparte Baptist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Rebekah Lodge.
Surviving are one son, Herbert of Bonaparte; five daughters, Helen Lowery of Bonaparte, Aline Carr of Inglewood, Calif., Loretta Sullivan of Ventura, Calif., Ruby Hoover of Cedar Rapids and Jean Gibbons of Topeka, Kan.; one brother, Pete Dreon of Minneapolis; one sister, Dora Grover of Dallas, Tex.; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Bonaparte Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gary Worsham officiating. Burial will be in the Bonaparte Cemetery.
