ETHEL SEARS

BONAPARTE - Mrs. Ethel Sears, 87, of Bonaparte, died today at 8 a.m. at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton where she had been for two months.

Born June 10, 1889, near Cantril, to James and Ella Poe Scholl, she had lived in the Bentonsport community most of her life and was a member of the Bentonsport United Methodist Church. She married Frank Sears Jan. 15, 1913, in Bloomfield. He died in 1962.

Surviving are one sn, Frank Jr. of Des Moines; one daughter, Mrs. Harry Rector of Vinton; one sister, Mrs. Opal Shaw of Monmouth, Ill.; and four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Bentonsport United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery at Milton. The Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua is in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established payable to the Bentonsport United Methodist Church.
