EUGENE J. LYON

ELDON - Eugene J. Lyon, 64, died Thursday at 12:15 p.m. at Sunnyslope Care Center in Ottumwa. He had been in failing health six weeks.

He was born March 1, 1912, in Stockport to Thomas and Mary Ford Lyon. A lifetime resident of the Stockport and Eldon communities, he was affiliated with the Church of the Brethren.

On March 1, 1935, he married Grace Johnson. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Howard of Eldon and Tom of Ottumwa; five grandchildren; one brother, Robert; and five sisters, Mrs. Johnson of Birmingham, Mrs. Gladys Stilwell of Danville, Mrs. Cleola Brightwell and Miss Ida Mae Lyon, both of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Mary Moore of Downing, Mo.

The service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home, with the Rev. Vernon Merkey officiating. Burial will be in Eldon Cemetery.
