Ottumwa, Iowa, Monday, February 21, 1977

ELSIE TURNER

FARMINGTON - Elsie Turner, 78, of Farmington, died Sunday at 10:50 p.m. at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua, where she was admitted three weeks ago.

She was born Dec. 4, 1898, at Douds to Delbert and Nellie Stansbury Pool. A lifetime resident of Van Buren County, she was a member of the Farmington Church of the Nazarene.

On Nov. 15, 1915, she married Elmer Turner at Fairfield. He preceded in death.

Surviving are four sons, John of Des Moines, Merrill of Farmington, Gerald of Bonaparte and Elmer of Fort Madison; four daughters, Mrs. Marie Grinson of Bentonsport, Mrs. George Coleman of Farmington, Mrs. Wayne Robinson of Milton and Mrs. Glendon Lannom of Lebanon, Tenn.; three brothers, Lester and Dale Pool, both of Fairfield, and Stanley Pool of Nevada City, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Hardin of Fairfield, Mrs. Laura Cowles of Ottumwa and Mrs. Weltha Davisson and Mrs. Opal Davisson, both of Fairfield; 22 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The service will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Farmington Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Dennis Kiper officiating. Burial will be in Greenglade Cemetery.

The body is at Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington, where the family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

A memorial has been established payable to her church, and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
