LaMAR MUIR

KEOSAUQUA LaMar Muir, 71, of Keosauqua, died Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Ottumwa Hospital.

He was born Dec. 8, 1905, at Lebanon, Iowa, to Ralph and Jennie Sample Muir. A lifetime resident of an Buren County, he had lived 11 years in Keosauqua. He was a retired heavy equipment operator.

He was a member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church, Keosauqua Masonic Lodge 10 and Des Moines Local 234 of the International Union of Operating Engineers.

On Jan. 14, 1928, he married Bessie Brodeen at Milton. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Robert of Des Moines; two daughters, Jeanne Johnson of Garrison, Minn., and Sharlene Luke of Eldon; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The service will be Friday at 1:30 at the Lebanon United Methodist Church, with the Rev. L.C. Brown and the Rev. Helen Brown officiating. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Fellows Cemetery.

The body is at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

A memorial has been established payable to the heart fund. Contributions may be left at the funeral home.
