AGNES HOLMES

BONAPARTE - Mrs. Agnes Holmes, 79, of Bonaparte, died Friday at 10:45 a.m. at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

She was born Sept. 23, 1897, at Bonaparte to Charles and Mary Smith Sanford. Her husband, John Holmes, preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Bonaparte Presbyterian Church, the BY Chapter of TTT, and was a long-time secretary of Magnolia Chapter of Eastern Star.

Surviving are two brothers, Charles Ray Sanford of Galesburg, Ill., and Albert Sandford of Horseshoe Bend, Ark.

The funeral was held today at 1:30 p.m. at the Bonaparte Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Scott Holmes officiating. Burial was in Sharon Cemetery.

An Eastern Star service was held Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the Carl Wilson Home in Bonaparte. Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home of Farmington was in charge of arrangements.
