RUTH L. HEMMINGS

FARMINGTON - Ruth L. Hemmings, 83, of Farmington, died Saturday at 5:10 p.m. at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua, where she was admitted two weeks ago.

She was born June 8, 1893, at Hawthorne, Wis., to William and Florence Andrews Adkisson. She married Archie Hemmings on March 14, 1917, at Hillsboro. He died in 1976.

She had lived on the same farm all of her married life, and was a member of the Big Mound United Methodist Church.

Surviving are one son, Willard of Farmington; two brothers, Glen and Claude of Adkisson, both of Donnellson; two sisters, Mrs. Lisle Bargar of Farmington and Mrs. Roy Senor of Milton; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Big Mound Church, with the Rev. Scott Holmes officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery.

The body is at Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home at Donnellson, where the family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 o'clock.
