MARIE BROMBAUGH

FARMINGTON - Mrs. Marie Brombaugh, 71, of Farmington, died Tuesday at 6:52 p.m. at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua after a 2 1/2 week illness.

She was born June 18, 1905, at Salem to Addison and Carlyn Baker Newman. She spent most of her life in the Farmington area, and was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Cemetery Association and the American Legion Auxiliary.

On Dec. 20, 1919, she married Glen S. Brombaugh at Bentonsport. He died Oct. 7 of this year.

Surviving are two sons, David of Bonaparte and Gene of Farmington; three daughters, Mrs. Clyspa Williams of Farmington and Mrs. Ethel Dickey and Mrs. Mary Stewart, both of Jefferson; three sisters, Mrs. Nina Mitchell of Montrose, Mrs. Ida Plummer of Mount Pleasant and Mrs. Irene Henkle of Kansas City, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The service will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington, with the Rev. Scott Holmes officiating. Burial will be in Greenglade Cemetery.
