WARDIE H. JOHN
BLOOMFIELD - Wardie H. John, 84, died Sunday at 3:32 a.m. at the Burlington Medical Center.
He was born July 1o, 1892, in Davis County, to Manford Lynch and Mary Catherine Day John. A retired farmer an carpenter, he lived in Davis County until moving to Burlington two years ago.
His wife, Ottie May Swaim John, died in 1961.
Surviving are five sons, Oddis of Bloomfield, Roscoe of Cranston, R.I., Lyle of Lenox, Lowell of West Burlington and Wayne of Burlington; three daughters, Beulah Summers of Memphis, Mo., Beatrice Niles of Burlington and Betty Fox of Port Clinton, Ohio; two sisters, Elsie Denton of Lodi, Calif., and Helen Stevens of Tonasket, Wash.; two brothers, Kenneth of Clyde Park, Mon., and Leo of Lodi, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with the Rev. Dwight Messenger officiating. Burial will be in the Troy, Iowa, Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
