FLORENCE NEWMAN

KEOSAUQUA - Florence M. Newman, 79, of Keosauqua, died Sunday at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 17, 1897, near Stockport, to J.T. and Anna Baugher Clark. She was a member of the Keosauqua United Methodist Church and the Keosauqua Legion Auxiliary.

On Oct. 6, 1915, she married Russell Newman at Stockport. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Dennis of Keosauqua and Wayne of Stockport; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Milo and Dale Clark, both of Stockport; and two sisters, Faye Wolfe of West Liberty and Marjorie Calhoun of Geneseo, Ill.

The service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Keosauqua United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Cornish officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery near Stockport.

The body is at Burch Funeral Home in Birmingham, where contributions may be left for memorials to her church or the cancer society.
