MARGARET STEWART

FAIRFIELD - Mrs. Margaret E. Stewart, 87, of 302 E. Burlington, died Monday at 2:45 p.m. at Jefferson County Hospital. She had been in failing health six months.

She was born May 4, 1889, in Van Buren County to James and Mary Channel Mercer. A resident of the Fairfield community for more than 78 years, she was a member of the Mount Zion United Methodist Church.

On Dec. 27, 1911, she married Roy Stewart. He died in 1951.

Surviving are one son, Kenneth E. of Fairfield; one daughter, Beulah M. Blough of Fairfield; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Wayne L. Bartruff officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Douds.
