Ottumwa, Iowa, Wednesday, July 21, 1976

SAMUEL R. BROWN

ELDON - Samuel R. Brown, 77, died Tuesday at 4:40 p.m. at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua.

He was born May 7, 1899, at Douds to Elsie and Nelvina Plowman Brown. A resident of Eldon most of his life, he was a World War I veteran.

He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Veterans of World War I.

On May 7, 1919, he married Dora E. Cahill. She preceded him in death.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Carol Falbo of Billings, Mont.; one son, Robert of Houston, Tex.; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Frances DeBolt of Whittier, Calif., and Mrs. Thomas Richards of Hacienda, Calif.

The service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Eldon, with the Rev. Earl Menning officiating. Burial with military rites will be in the Eldon Cemetery.
