MAUDE HULL MATHIES

KEOSAUQUA - Maude Hull Mathies, 87, died Thursday at 7:25 p.m. at Riverview Manor Nursing home near Bettendorf.

The daughter of John and Margaret Black Hull, she was born Feb. 28, 1889, at Douds. On Nov. 29, 1908, she married Clarence Mathies. They lived their married life in Douds and Keosauqua communities. He died in 1956.

She lived in Davenport for the past three years.

Surviving are a grandson, Hollis Mathies of Davenport, who she raised; three sisters, Zula Pollock of Ottumwa, Ellen King of Cleveland, Ohio, and Goldie Nichols of Davenport; two brothers, Lester Hull of Ottumwa and Claude Hull of Warden, Wash.

She was a Methodist and active in the American Legion Auxiliary while living in Keosauqua.

The service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua. Burial will be in the Pittsburg Cemetery.
