The funeral for Ethelyn M. McCord, 80, who died Wednesday was Friday at 10 a.m. at the Lebanon United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Harold Harryman officiating.

DOUDS - The funeral for Ethelyn M. McCord, 80, who died Wednesday, will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the Lebanon United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Harold Harryman officiating.

A graveside service will be Friday at 3:30 p.m. in Union Cemetery at Iowa Falls.

The body is at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds.

Mrs. McCord was born May 7, 1895, west of Cantril to A.J. and Annie K. Miller Stewart, and moved to the present farm south of Douds in 1911. She taught in Van Buren and Franklin county rural schools.

On Dec. 20, 1916, she married Earl D. McCord at Iowa Falls, where they lived. After his death in 1928, she returned to the Douds community.

She was a member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

Surviving are one daughter, Darlene McCord of Marshalltown, and one sister, Mrs. Violet Armstrong of Ottumwa.

A memorial has been established payable to her church.
